Adani Green Energy Ltd. (AGEL) has officially commenced power generation at
what is set to become the world’s largest renewable energy installation — the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the
Indian state of Gujarat.
The company successfully energized the first 551 MW of solar capacity, marking a major milestone in the park’s
ambitious 30 GW development plan. Remarkably, AGEL achieved this feat within just 12 months of beginning construction,
which included building essential infrastructure such as roads, connectivity, and facilities to support an
8,000-strong workforce in the harsh terrain of the Rann of Kutch.
When fully operational, the Khavda Renewables Park will generate approximately 81 billion units of clean electricity
annually, providing power to over 16 million homes and offsetting 58 million tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
The 30 GW project positions India as a key player in the global renewable energy landscape, showcasing the country’s
ability to execute projects of unprecedented scale. With 2,060 kWh/m² of high solar irradiation and exceptional wind
potential, the Khavda region offers ideal conditions for both solar and wind energy generation.
AGEL’s achievement highlights its commitment to sustainability and its pivotal role in advancing India’s clean energy
transition — aligning with global climate goals and reinforcing the nation’s path toward a low-carbon future.
